All subjects in physical and engineering sciences use mathematics extensively in teaching and research. Mathematics is also gradually taking over Biological Sciences and is new way of expression. It has come out of empirical and descriptive approach and analysis. The quantitative and computational studies are no longer special feature but a modern method to visualise most of the biological systems. With the advent of computersand electronic devises, study of biological process is no longer based on these actions, microscopic visualisation and practical observations.
Now, every process can be studied with much more depth with manifold efficiency using modern techniques. However, this new approach is based on static and dynamic quantification of the system. Mathematics modelling is the process which helps in representation and quantified form of biology. Most of the biological fields are now studied through mathematics modelling and transformation of the subject in Mathematics is not so easy. One has to idealise and smoothen the biological information. The same, then, has to be converted into data column. For this purpose, the information has to be channelised so that most prominent form leads the same and remaining ones are arranged on the basis of priority and importance. The mathematical formulation of biology defers from one branch to another.
The important areas which can be expressed in terms of Mathematics are as follows:
1. Microbiology Growth of Virus Bacteria.
2. Plant Pathology and Plant Diseases.
3. Entomology Quantitative and Qualitative Behaviour of Insects.
4. Population Dynamics Tiny, Medium and Large Size Animal Species.
5. Bio-diffusion Diffusion of Pollen Viruses, Growth of Biomass.
6. Cell Biology Biochemical Reactions and Enzyme Kinetics.
7. Animal Physiology Cell Growth, Fluid Circulation, Blood Circulation Micro Circulation.
8. Thermo Regulation in Animals.
9. Neural Network in Animals Including Human Beings.
10. Bio-mechanics Bone Structure and Muscular Fabrics.
11. Ecology and Environment.
12. Movement and Migration Fish,Birds and Insects, Movement of Animals, Swimming of Aquatic Animals, Swimming of Micro Organism.
13. Microbiology Human Health, Spread of Diseases, Abnormal Growth in Human Body.
Most of new development and advance research in above topics are mathematics based. Thus mathematics has become a new language for these areas.
